Membership
fee's frozen yet again
The cost of club membership will remain at just
£15 for adults and £5 for juniors and OAP's for the
coming 2009/10 season. Day ticket prices also remain unchanged.

our water during this period please check that your booking has
been recorded correctly.

"Golden Peg"
During
the 2005/06 Season we will be running a "Golden
Peg" at all the "Home Club Matches",
starting with the first Evening Match on the Kennet
& Avon Canal at Semington. Before entering into
the "Golden Peg" Competition, all
anglers are requested to make themselves aware of the "Golden
Peg" Rules.
GOLDEN

a second (b) golden peg has now started and stands at £320

for Club Waters
Please
note
To
enable us to list all visiting club bookings in our membership
cards it is essential that all bookings for the 2009/10 season
are made by April 1st 2009 at the latest.
If
your Club would like to book a Club Outing on the
Bristol Avon or the Kennet & Avon Canal, or
join in at one of our friendly Inter-Club Matches held
on the river, please Contact Us.
Sections of water can be booked for as little as £3.00
per Peg! We are able to cater for anything from a 200 Peg
Winter League Match to a 12 Peg Club Outing. We can
also provide a "Pegging Service" at just 50p
per Peg!

Evening Club
Match Three. Tue 30th June 2009
Round three of this four match series saw some improvement
in the fishing at Conigre and even a couple of barbell showed
up. A fish of around six pound was lost at the net from peg three
and one of just over a pound was taken at peg ten.
Top spot went to Bob Ryan at peg ten with 7lb 10oz
of mostly good size perch, Bob fished maggot feeder on the pole
and used red maggot as hook bait.
Robbie Kepner was second with a net of small fish
caught on the pole and maggot from peg eight.
Third was Andy Pratten with 4lb 4oz of small chub
from peg three.

Match Two. Tue 23rd June 2009
It's some time since Conigre fished so poorly with
the average weight from the match at just over one pound per angler
and even then it was only the odd perch being caught.
2lb 10oz was all that Robin Guy needed to win. Drawn
just before the cottages, Robin feed ground bait and fished with
maggot hook bait on the pole for his net of small fish.
Bob Ryan was second with 1lb 13oz of perch and a
few bits taken on stick float and maggot
Third was Abby Pontin with 1lb 5oz of perch taken
on worm.

Match One. Tue 16th June 2009
Members fishing the first of four Tuesday evening
matches found the fish difficult to tempt on the Conigre stretch
of the Avon at Melksham.
Just 6lb 14oz was all that Andy Pratten needed for
top spot. Fishing the pole across at peg eight with chopped worm
and worm on a size 16 hook Andy netted eight perch and a few small
chub for the win.
Club match secretary Mark crook was just three ounces
behind with 6lb 11oz of small chub and an eel from peg ten, all
taken on the pole with worm.
Third place went to Robbie Kepner with 4lb 11oz
of small fish.

Huge
Bream Catch From The River Avon At Whaddon
The five hour river match fishing record tumbled
when club member Stewart White from Chippenham weighed in an incredible
294lb of bream after fishing a club match on the Bristol Avon
at Whaddon on Sunday (13 Aug 2006) The catch was made up of 57
fish to 7lb and were all taken pole fished worm over ground bait

Edward presents Stewart White with this achievement award to mark
his new UK five-hour river match record. The presentation was
made after the clubs Xmas match.
