AvonAC "Golden Peg" Rules

  1. The "Golden Peg" Competition will only run on "AvonAC Club Matches". It will not be competed for in "Open Matches".
  2. The "Golden Peg" will only be competed for when 12 or more anglers enter into the event at any one club match.
  3. The cost of entry will be "One Pound" (£1). Entry fees will be collected prior to the draw. Should the required number of 12 entries not be reached, all monies collected will be paid out as a "Winner-Takes-All" pool.
  4. The "Golden Peg" will be drawn just prior to the main draw and the number of the "Golden Peg" will be made know to all.
  5. Should the "Golden Peg" not be drawn at the main draw, or not won on the day, all monies collected will be carried forward to the next event.
  6. To win the "Golden Peg" Pot an angler must record the best weight in the match from the "Peg" deemed the "Golden Peg". In the event of a tied weight the "Golden Peg" Pot will not be paid out. The "Golden Peg" Pot must be won outright.
  7. Should the "Golden Peg" Pot reach "£500", a second pot will be started with two "Golden Pegs" being drawn prior to the main draw. The first one drawn will be for the "£500" pot and the second peg drawn will be for the smaller pot. Should the second pot reach "£500", a third pot will be started and three "Golden Pegs" will be drawn and so on.
  8. "Non-Members" will be welcome to compete for the "Golden Peg" in "Club Matches" involving "Visiting Clubs" and "Interclub Contests" that are run by AvonAC.
  9. It may be necessary for winnings to be paid by cheque. This would be done normally no later than seven days from the day of the win. It is the duty of the winner to inform the match organiser of his or her postal address.
  10. Normal "Club Match Rules" shall prevail in all matches involving the "Golden Peg". It is up to individual anglers to make themselves aware of any "Local Rules".
  11. All money collected as entry fees to the "Golden Peg" Contest will be added to the "Golden Peg" Pot. AvonAC will not deduct any monies from this pool.
  12. Should a competitor require a re-draw, for whatever reason, said competitor will not be eligible for the "Golden Peg" Prize Money.
  13. Any competitor with a grievance may bring it to the attention of the "Club Committee" by writing to the "Club Secretary". This will be dealt with in accordance to the "Club Rules".
  14. These rules are provisional and may be amended at any time. Notice will be given of any amendments.
